WHAT SERVICES DOES THE PLAN COVER?
The plan emphasizes preventive care—that means we want to keep your teeth healthy. We believe that the decision to have a cavity filled or to seek emergency treatment should not be driven by the cost. That’s why we also include basic restorative and emergency services under the plan.
These services are covered:
- two cleanings per year (may be applied to your periodontal care)
- two regular oral examinations per year
- fluoride treatment and sealants (as needed)
- oral hygiene instruction and follow-up
- radiographs (x-rays) as needed for services provided by the plan
- 3 routine silver fillings (amalgams) or tooth-colored fillings (composites)
- emergency treatment for relief of pain
- emergency temporary fillings
Examples of services that are not covered:
(Note: Most of these conditions can be prevented by completing the recommended two cleanings and regular oral examinations per year, which are covered as part of the plan.)
- veneers and bleaching
- extractions (emergency or routine)
- specialty care such as orthodontics
- bite splints
- periodontics (gums, root planing, advanced cleaning)
- endodontics (root canal)
- consultations with specialists
