Dental Students to "Give Kids a Smile" Feb. 2

Ann Arbor, MI - December 20, 2007 - University of Michigan School of Dentistry dental and dental hygiene students will team up with faculty members to provide free oral health care services to children from low-income families on Saturday, February 2. The services will be offered as a part of the American Dental Association's annual "Give Kids a Smile" program

From 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., the dental and dental hygiene students and faculty will provide cleanings, simple fillings, x-rays, and sealants at the School (1011 N. University Avenue) on a first-come, first-served basis. It is not necessary to make an appointment.

Registration is from 9:00 a.m. and is limited to the first 100 children. Children between the ages of 5 and 12 will be seen and must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Children who come to the School of Dentistry will receive a free oral health kit containing toothbrush, toothpaste, floss, and information on maintaining good oral health.

Free parking will be offered at the Fletcher Street parking structure in the Patient Parking Area (upper level). The parking structure is adjacent to the School of Dentistry. When they arrive at the gate, patients must press the green button for the gate to rise. Although they will receive a parking ticket as the gate rises, they will not have to pay.
