Exploration of Oral Science Program
The University of Michigan School of Dentistry provides summer research opportunities for interested students who have completed their first two years of high school. The E.O.S. program is designed for students who have an interest in the sciences, and would like to learn more about conducting research. Students are assigned to a professor to conduct dental or clinical research on a variety of topics during the six-week program.
The Exploration of Oral Science Program has up to five positions available for Michigan high school students, which pay approximately $8.30/hour. Participants are expected to work 40 hours per week. To apply you be entering your junior or senior year, have one year of chemistry and one year of biology with a B average or better.
As research assistants, each student is required to maintain a journal of their daily activities in preparation for the final research presentation. The presentation will be a summary of the summer work experience, to be presented before invited guests.
Information about the application process will be posted soon.
